So cute

Today Allison asked me to put her hair in two ponies. She hasn't asked for that in a long time. She looks so cute. I looked at her this morning and I was reminded of how cute she is and how fast she is growing up. It seems that little by little the small things fad away until one day they are all grown up. Funny how I am just realizing this.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Last Thursday was the much anticipated daddy daughter dance. These little girls look forward to this so much. The school rents out a room at the golf club and they decorate so beautifully. Allison got all dressed up and curled up to go on this special date with her daddy.

There is only one picture of her and Craig because he can't stand the "photo shoots" I try to hold!

Happy Birthday Grandma Nana

The following week was Grandma Nana's 55th birthday. We had her out for her birthday dinner. She requested my ritz cracker chicken that she loves so much. Her cake was a little different.

A few days prior my friend asked me to take a fondant class with her. It was a Valentine cake class. We had so much fun! I can't wait to go back and learn more. Needless to say that was Cathy's birthday cake. I hope she was okay with that! Thank you for sharing your birthday with us. We love you!

Happy Birthday Papa Rees

A few weeks ago it was Craig's dad's 60th birthday. He decided to have him out for a little bash. We invited Clint's brother, Craig's two sisters, Clint's mom, and Cathy. It turned out to just be Cathy, who brought Natalie and Dylan, us and Clint's mom. We had a yummy dinner of pasta, per his request, bread and salad. I also made him the cake if his choice.....chocolate. For the first time I made it all form scratch (even the filling). I may say it was pretty tasty. We hope it was a fun evening for him. Happy 60th Birthday Papa Rees!

What did you just ask me????

It seems that my posts lately have been of conversations with my sweet children. Well here is another one. Some of us ladies were chit chattin' over lunch last week about many things, but of those things was when our children asked the BIG question. I simply said I don't even think it has crossed their minds. Not even a hint of anything like that goin' on over here.

So, picture this...Mom thinks it would be a good day to spend with Zach. Happily he comes along with me to all of my various errands today. The last one being Stater Bros. So, here we are walking down the cereal isle and he turns to me and asks:

Z: Mom how did you get 4 babies out of you?

I pause for a moment and think, okay not bad, I can handle this one.

M: Well son, I pushed them out.

Z:No mom, I mean how did you get them in you?

Suddenly everything comes to a screeching halt down the cereal isle! What did you just ask me??? I contemplate for a minute, what is appropriate to answer here in Stater Bros on a Saturday nontheless. So, I turn to him and say...

M:Can we talk about this later???

Now the big question is do I bring it up or wait for him to ask again???

Options

It seems somehow we have just spoiled this last child of ours a little too much. He comes into our bed every morning between the hours of 3am-5am. This has NEVER been allowed! Last night he came into our bed at about 11:30. I was asleep, but Craig was awake watching tv. Anyway, this is the conversation Craig told me about this morning.

Spencer crawls into our bed.

Craig: If you are going to stay in our bed, you can not suck your thumb. (We are trying to stop this habit)

Spencer: takes his thumb out of his mouth, folds his arms across his chest and has a horrible scowl on his face. Craig says he sat there for a few minutes just with that mad look on his face. Then he finally sat up and crawled out of our bed.

Craig: Where are you going? I thought you were going to cuddle with me.

Spencer: I'm going to Spencer's bed! (I guess he sat there with his mad face and thought about his options. 1. Mom and dad's bed with no thumb or 2. My bed alone with my thumb. I guess he chose #2.

Kids say the darndest things!

We have these friends that we just love and they just up and left us and moved to Hemet. Craig often makes fun of them saying that they moved to where all the old people live and why would they want to move to the end of the earth? This brings us to the conversation in the car today.

Eli: Where is Phoenix? We want to got to his house. (All the kids are chiming in now pleading for me to take them there)

Mom: We can't go today it is 3:45 and they live far away.

Allison: Yea, they moved to Heaven!

Mom: Not quite, they moved to Hemet :)

New Calling

This post is more like a plea for help instead of documenting what is going on in our life. Back in mid December I received a a call on a Sunday morning to come and have a visit with our bishop. I am going to save everyone all the boring details, but I will say that on my way there I had a BIG hunch about the changes that were about to occur at church and for my family. Long story short I have been called as the first counselor in the primary presidency. I do have to say that I am very excited about this calling, but what you all need to know is that I am a shy, reserved and VERY NONE creative person!!!! I do love kids and to be honest I think I get along with them better than I do adults most days. (Well, except for when it comes to my own, but we aren't going there today)

So, here is my problem. Since I have been called I have been conducting. Now, this month is my month to do sharing time. AAAGGHHHH!!!! I served in the primary in my old ward for like 4 months before being asked to do something else. I have been watching ever so closely and taking all kinds of mental notes while the others were doing sharing time. You know, when I am not running around putting out fires.

Now all that said, brings me to the reason for this post. I need help and ideas. I have to do this for the next 2 Sundays, adapt it for junior and senior primary and incorporate singing time with it. Yes, I have read the Friend and been on sugardoodle. Does anyone have anyother grand ideas or places to look? I am ready for the flood gates to open for creativeness in this small pea brain of mine. Thanks ahead of time for your input. I know that we all receive callings at certain times in our lives to help us grow and learn. I have to say that this one is mine. I have been so used to getting lost in the shuffle and filling in on the callings that are hard to fill. I know that my Heavenly Father would not have asked this of me if I could not do it. I know that over time I wll get used to this. I just need a little help getting the wheels turning. :)
