Last Day of the year award ceremony

We are so proud of you Allison! She was awarded the Principles award for overall outstanding academics. Go Allison!!!

Allison and her friend. They both were given this award. They are the top in there class.

Zach's class had kid voted awards. They voted him the most responsible. Go figure. I guess kids are different at school than they are at home. He really is a good helper at home...well, when he wants to be.

Allison's kindergarten graduation. Here she is getting her diploma.

I was trying to get a compact picture of all 5 to fit in these frames. This totally didn't work. They just kept wiggling and moving. Then hands were going up and then someone looks away. Any one who has kids should understand.

Not even in focus...Nice

So, I couldn't find Spencer on Father's Day. Matthew had the flu 2 days earlier. Spencer had gotten it and was sleeping a lot. He woke up from his nap and there was people in the house. So, he decided to go behind the couch and was there for a long time. I took a peek and he was asleep. He had to have been back there for at least 2 hours. Poor guy.

Happy Father's Day

For Father's Day we had the grandpa's over for a very small and casual dinner.

Craig is opening his gift from his dad. Another book! Craig just can't get enough of books.

Papa Scott and his picture frame that we made.

Papa Rees and his frame.

Daddy just kickin' back and enjoying the day. We love you daddy!

Date night

I know...could my eyes get any bigger? My brother works for Disney and 2 Sat. ago Craig and I went on a date to Disneyland with my brother and his wife. I was so excited. You see for the first time in 7 years we don't have passes and I am having major withdraws. And it was our first time there with no kids! SSHHHH, don't tell them. They would be crushed if they knew where we went.

When you play in the water all day.....

This is what happens when you play all day in the water. I couldn't find Spencer and this is what I found. He was on the floor in the boys room. I took the vacuum cleaner
and vacuumed right up to him and he never flinched!!

Swimming fun

Two weeks ago it was just to hot to cope. So, we blew up the "big" pool and let the kids have fun.
We also found all the squirt guns in the garage. They thought that was really cool!

Zach was nailing dad here.

Eli totally thought no one could see him behind the gazebo cover!

Matthew just wanted to pose for the picture

Dad and Spencer playing peek a boo with mom

Spencer of course had to have a gun. He just couldn't shoot it the right way. You know when you are 2 it is much easier to turn it around and push the trigger down that way. The only bad thing is that every time you do that you squirt yourself in the face!

AAAHHHH, a weekend ALONE!!!

This Weekend Craig and I got to go away for a much needed "mini" vacation. The last time we got to do that Matthew was a baby and went with us. So needless to say there was much anticipation for this weekend. It started off with a trip to Glen Ivy. We swam in the pools, covered ourselves in mud, sat in the spa and sauna and then we got a couples massage. What a great day! We then went out to dessert first and then dinner. Off to the beach after that. Saturday was filled with sleeping in, shopping at South coast plaza, a boat ride around Balboa, ice cream twice, and a very yummy dinner. Back at the hotel we decided to go swimming and sit in the spa there, just because we could. Sunday was another fun day. More sleeping in, a bike ride from Balboa to Huntington and back(boy does my bum hurt), a snooze on the beach, dinner and then home again. Now I know why we have kids. Why else would we plan trips away. What would you need to get away from? Your dogs? No, just the screaming, crying, fighting, bum wiping, diaper changing, chauffer here, there and everywhere, days. As we were driving home home Craig said, "I feel like we have been on summer vacation and are going back to school." He couldn't have said it any better. Needless to say it was a wonderful weekend and I just can't wait for another like it!

Do we look relaxed? That was the best massage ever!

Us on the boat. We rented it with our friends the Fishers. What a conincidence they were at the beach on a weekend alone too!

Craig trying to drive the boat and eat his ice cream too.
Us with the Fishers after our boat ride. Thanks for spliting the tab with us guys. Hey by the way, Happy Birthday Chris!

This is us in Huntington. We made it there and watched the waves for awhile and then started back. It couldn't have been a more beautiful weekend. Thanks for taking me away, honey...I love you.

More open hose pictures

Allison's frog. They were learning about insects the past couple of months. It all was sooo cute!

Great photo op!

Look at the picture behind her. Doesn't it look so crazy? They are going on a safari.

The whole family in Allison's class.

You just gotta love open house!

Tonight was Zach and Allison's open house. I amazed at all the many wonderful things that their teachers do. I just have to say I LOVE my kids teachers!!! This is the whole family with Zach's teacher.

Zach with one of their projects. It was a bunch of flowers. Don't you just love his smile!

Allison's gigantic bee hive in her class. Way cute!

Allison's with her wonderful teacher.

One of those butterflies is Allison's. This is her friend that she adores.

Happy Birthday Spencer

It is so hard to believe that our little boy is 2 years old. My how time flies when we are having fun. His actual birthday is on Tuesday and he shares it with my grandma. We had a little family party on Sunday for him. He has this teddy bear that he absolutely will not go to sleep with out. I thought it would be cute to make his cake look like his bear. It made all the hard work worth it when he saw it and said, "My teddy bear"! This little guy of ours is spoiled rotten and loved by everyone in our family. I think they all know this is it and treat him just like he is the baby. I think Spencer also knows this and takes advantage of this whenever he can. Of course we all just think it is the cutest thing. I never got it when everyone said things like, "Oh, he is the youngest". Or when parents say, "Well, he is our last, so just let it be". I get it now. It's like all of our parenting techniques get thrown out the window and the youngest rules the roost! Just look at him though...doesn't he just melt your heart. Yes, we are smitten, ALL of us. We are very blessed to have him in our home. He definitely makes our family complete. We love you Spencer. Happy 2nd birthday.

Zach's last game

His last game was Saturday. We got a few pictures of him, but the biggest part was he got his trophy. We had to miss the pizza party because his best friends were getting baptized, so his coach did a little presentation to Zach at the game. Thanks coach and great game Zach!!!

Last baseball practice

For their last practice Zach's coach decided to have the family members play against the boys. Me and the kids were there and had a blast. Even Spencer had a chance at bat (with mom's help, of course). Allison was a little shy about playing, so she decided to be the camera man. Keep in mind that she took ALL the pictures, that don't have her in them, all by herself. I actually think she did a pretty good job!
