I need help

This is for all you moms out there that have school kids and little kids at home. What do you do with your little kids while working on homework with the big kids? Between homework and dinner my little guys are neglected and all that I have worked towards all day gets undone in a matter of minutes. A movie doesn't work because the big kids can see the tv from the table. Letting them do "homework" or color doesn't work either because then I post blogs like the one I posted 3 blogs ago. They go to their rooms to play, but really they are just destroying and then that always turns into fighting. On top of it all I am trying to put dinner together and I can't seem to get it done fast enough because their is always a problem. So what works for you or are you in my same rutt??? I feel like I could just explode every day at this time. Tonight I am actually grateful that I get to leave for an hour to go to cub scouts! Help, please!!!!

The song is called what?

So a while ago our primary had a talent show. I of course asked my friends what their children were doing because mine were to shy to do something. A few of them were getting their kids together to sing the bubble gum song. The what? You know THE bubble gum song! I'm thinking is this some primary song that I haven't heard of? So, fast forward a few months and I discover that my friend has this song on her blog. I listen to it and I had no idea it was a rap song. I have no idea who Bazooka Joe is, but I guess I was surprised because it was rap. Fast forward to yesterday. We are in the car and Eli is in the way back singing the bubble gum song. Surprised, I ask him where did he hear it? He pauses to answer because he thinks he has done something wrong, but then said Mrs. Hyatt hid pre school teacher) sings it to us. (Side note, I don't think she raps, but then again maybe she does;) Okay, then. I tell him I know where to find the song when we get home so he can hear it. I go to my friends blog and the kids just LOVED hearing this song. So here they are dancing to it. Just in case you want to hear it, it is on my playlist now, too.

Stoy time at the library

In honor of their fall into reading program the local library had a fire truck come visit. My boys were a little, well a lot shy, about it. Eli was the only one that seemed to have warmed up a bit. They showed the kids all the cool gadgets, honked the horn and let the kids spray the hose!

And our favorite color is.....BLUE!!!

Last night was an enrichment activity and I was deep in my kitchen making the food for it. The kids were at the table doing their homework and the three little boys were up and down doing their own version of homework. Now, I have outlawed markers in my home because I have too many creative minds that prefer all other surfaces EXCEPT paper. On to the story. Zach says he needs help and I turn to walk to the table to help him and what do I see???? My little creative genius at work. Yes, this is the artwork of my youngest, Spencer. Of course everyone was so eager to help clean up because it was not their mess and they weren't the ones in trouble. I don't know if you can tell by the picture, but yes, he colored my grout too!

Cub Scouts here we come!!!

Three Wed. ago was Zach's first official day that he could go to cub scouts. Of course we played hookie ( I say we because I am the den leader) to go to Disneyland for his birthday. So, last wed. was his first night. Boy was he excited. On the way home he asked me, "Mom, do we always make things and do fun things?" Well, of course was my reply! So here are a few pictures of my little boy looking cute in his uniform!

Beach trip

We had promised Zach a beach trip with a BBQ before the end of the summer. We finally got around to it. We went with our friends the Fishers. The kids all had a great time together. Zach just loved going in the ocean and learn how to boogie board. Even Allison gave it a small try. Craig's favorite thing to do at the beach (well besides sleep) is to dig a really big hole. This time he decided to do the opposite. He made a big hill. The kids loved it. They put the boogie board on top and took turns "surfing" on it. The little guys took turns pushing each other down the hill. Of course you have to BBQ hot dogs and smores. Yummy!!!! I know it seems like I do a lot of slide shows, but there are just to many cute pictures.

Fun with mom

Well, sometimes I let the kids do fun things with me. I decided to wash my car and thought the kis would like to help me. Of course not everyone lasted, but a few stuck around. Did I think to take pictures of them actuallt washing the car? No, but I did get a few of Allison and Spencre being cute. They were squrting each other with the hose and then neededt o stop for a drink

Spencer thought it was so cute to hold it fot Allison

9/11

UGHHH! It posted the pictures first and I don't know how to fix that. So, you get pictures know and explanation later.

Allison and her friend posing for a picture.

Allison after all the first grade classes sang the Star Spangled Banner.

In honor of 9/11 every year our school does a little program. Each year I go and watch with goose bumps on my skin and tears in my eyes Enas the classes take their turns singing their songs. I didn't think to get Allison's class on my camera, but I did get part of Zach's and it really hit home. You can hear it for yourself.

I think that sums it up.

Disneyland

Part of their birthday present was they got to go to Disneyland. We have not been for a year and they were so surprised. They had no idea where we were going. Zach figured it out half way there, but Matthew feel asleep and when he woke up was very surprised! We went over to California Adventure first and did so many things there. They loved the new Toy Story ride. Matthew is just below 42" and was not able to go on a few "bigger" rides, but I'm thinking next time he just might be. We took him on some rides that he was not able to go on last time he was there. Some of those were Starr Tours, which he just kept saying, "Whoa, Whoa, Whoa" and Big Thunder. He was pretty quiet during that one, but when it was over he loudly proclaimed. "that was fun"! We really had a great time. Thanks Uncle Justin and Aunt Staci for your help!

Happy Birthday Zach and Matthew

I am so bad. Zach and Matthew had a birthday a week ago today. It was on the 28th of Aug. It has taken me this long to post anything. Can you believe Zach is 8 and Matthew 4? I am having a hard time taking that one in. Any way I wanted to do something fun for them on their birthday so we went to a new little water park by our house. The kids had a blast. The only bad thing was NO shade. My sister went with us and we have decided next time we will be in our suits too! That night we had our family over for dinner and cake. Side note...two months ago we were eating dinner and Zach says, "Mom for my birthday I want steak and twice baked potatoes". Just like that. So, that is what he got. Of course they each got to pick their own breakfast that morning. Zach had to have his favorite, breakfast burritos and Matthew, choc. chip pancakes. By doing that I didn't feel so bad that Zach picked out the menu for dinner. Okay, so to dessert. Both boys have to have their own cake, right? So Matthew got a race car cake and Zach wanted a Quiksilver cake. I have never seen a kid so obsessed with a brand name like this one is! If you can't tell it is a copy of his favorite shirt made on to a "shirt" cake. It is a good thing you all are looking at them as a picture because I just wasn't in to it this time. The pictures hides most of the flaws. The boys, I think had fun. I am just amazed at how fast they grow. It seems just yesterday we found out we were pregnant with Zach and then learning that Matthew could possibly share a birthday with his brother. Time sure does fly. We love you boys and we are so blessed that we have your sweet spirits in our home.
