Our Relief Society Birthday dinner is tonight. I originally signed up to bring something else, but they did not have enough people bring cakes. I said okay, I will do that. So, I made a homemade yellow cake with lemon filling. I then decided to be bold and try fondant for the first time by myself. Here it is. I think I did okay. I was going for the spring look.

WOW! I have always wanted to try fondant. I don't even know where to get some. You buy it, not make it, right? I've watched enough episodes of Ace of Cakes on the Food Network that I know you knead it and roll it out, but that's about all I know.
I think it is way more intimidating than you think. I have only taken one little class. There is much I do not know, but that is basically it. Knead it, (color it if you want) roll it out and place. I bought it at a cake place. I was told the fondant that Wilton makes is nasty, so I decided to not go there. I paid $6 for the amount I needed for that cake. Not to shabby!
That is beautiful. It turned out awesome. You put my cakes to shame in every way.
The wilton fondant does taste gross. I'd love to try the fondant you use. Where did you get it from?
I got it at a place called Dizzy Desserts by my house. I think it is yummy.
That is the cake that I had that night because I thought it was the neatest. It tasted real good, I liked the lemon and the fondant was good too. Good job
Wow! You are going to give Michelle a run for her money ;-). It looks super cute. Sorry I missed out.
OH MY GOSH!!!
