I'm getting there

Well we have been in our house for two years and I am half way done painting...YEA!!! Today was our first day off track and I decided to paint our living room. You see I missed the line when they were handing out the talent in home decorating. I really have NO clue. Oh, and my husband always says, "Sure that looks good...whatever you want honey." How is that supposed to help me? Anyway I had some inside help on picking out colors that go with my kitchen and family room. Now that I painted it today I am wondering if I like it. I can't figure out if it is because I am used to looking at the white, flat painted walls with my kids art work on them or if I now need some contrasting colors into the room. I guess it is time to bring in the professionals...Michelle where are you? I had good intentions to finish my dining room tomorrow, but in the 4 1/2 hours it took my sister and I to paint my 5 beautiful children dumped and I mean DUMPED every toy they own out in their rooms...including Spencer's and drug them out the hall, into my room and the whole rest of the house for that matter. Matthew also decided about every couple of hours he didn't like what he was wearing and every room I walked into I found a complete set of clothes (underwear and all) lying all over that room. Not to mention my kitchen is a disaster and my kids tore apart the backyard. Oh, and Eli clogged a toilet this morning that I never got to and Craig wasn't to thrilled that I forgot about it. He had to do it...not one of his favorite jobs. Sorry, Craig. I guess I won't be painting tomorrow. I think I will be trying to get us back in order so they can do it all over again while I am painting the rest of my house. So much fun!!!!

One of my husbands favorite things

It is funny how you wake up in the morning and have no idea what kind of evening you will be having. I just figured it would be another "normal" evening in the Rees household. Unbeknownest to me my husband had been eyeing tickets to the George Strait concert. I had no idea he was even in concert. He is my husbands all time favorite singer, who NEVER comes to California. Of course we had to go. Weird how much of an effect your parents can have on you. So, after my long Gourmet Girls day, putting my kitchen back to semi normal, and Zach's baseball game we were off to the concert...with NO tickets. I guess he figured if it was meant to be it was meant to be. Needless to say we got in and have pounding heads and ringing ears today. We crawled, and I do mean crawled because it was 12:30, into bed last night and I said we sure are getting old. I can't remember the last time I thought music was SOOOO loud!!! Anyway, we did have fun AND it was a night out that I think I could say my husband planned!

My baby boy

Well, this might not be much to everyone else, but it is to me. Yesterday all the kids were going outside to play. So, my little guy (who can't be left out of anything) goes running to find his flip flops. Back to the kitchen where I am and is insisting that I put them on. I get one on and then attempt the other. Suddenly he is doing the uh, uh, uh thing. I can't figure out why he won't let me put the shoe on. So, i just decide I will give up when he wants it on he will let me do it. I give him the shoe and stand up to finish what I am doing. He starts YELLING...MOM, MOM, MOM. I turn my attention back to him and he says,"Watch this." I sat there for a moment and thought to myself,"Is this my baby boy telling me to watch this?" When did he grow and become a "little boy" and not a "baby boy" anymore? Very sad moment for mommy. He was trying to show me that he could bend his flip flop. Apparently that was very exciting for him. After he did that he allowed me to put it on his foot. Of course we then had to take off the other one so he could show me how he can do the same thing to that one also. Boy, do I love that kid and he is growing up way to fast for me.

I did it!!!

Okay, I am getting better and better at this. Easter this year was a little different for us. The kids woke up and discovered the Easter bunny has hidden their baskets. Off they went all over the house looking. Success...they found them. Then we were to be off to brunch at a friends house, but Zach suddenly got a fierce headache and then got sick over and over again. Happy Easter to him. Instead we stayed home and mom got the rest of the kids ready for church while dad took care of Zach. I tell you what though...Our friends must really like us because they decided to come over after church anyways. See, this year Cathy (Craig's mom did not host Easter and my family decided to wait for a few weeks because of our crazy schedules). We thought this is gonna be weird no Easter dinner. Then we discovered we had friends in the same predicament. We love you guys!!! So, all of us got together, had dinner, and an egg hunt with the kids. Poor Zach layed on the floor in his room (because he had no strength to climb to his bed) while we had fun. Anyway it was a lot of fun for all the other kids and who knows...new tradition???

Frustration

Well, I had helped a friend create a blog on my computer. Then we decided today that we needed to delete it and have her create it on your computer. Really no big deal since she had not posted anything to it yet. So, while talking to her on the phone today I deleted what I thought was hers. WRONG!!! It was mine. Lost everything lost. So, after trying to contact google and being the impatient person that I am (I need results like yesterday) I created a new one. I tried to make it somewhat the same. I wanted to keep these memories to have bound in a book someday. I totally feel like I have millions of lost memories (pre-blogger days) and can't afford to loose anymore. So, here we are with ALMOST the same entries, but all on the same day. It sure looks as if we have had one busy day!!!

Easter egg hunt

Every year our Relief Society does an egg hunt for the kids. This year it was just the boys that could go due to school. It took Spencer a little while to figure it out, but once he did he was an egg finding machine! Matthew just wanted to play on their really cool swing set. Eli, well...he was just happy to have another supply of candy. Oh and yes Spencer is happy to be eating chocolate AGAIN!!!

Hand in hand

I just couldn't resist taking this picture. This is walking down the old streets in Ojai after our ice cream.

We all scream for ice cream!!!

Here they are. Honestly I think this is the only way to get them all to sit down quietly for a good amount of time!!! What do you think...do we have a couple of chocoholics on our hands???

Road Trip

Well, we had a wedding in Ojai last Friday. So we pulled the kids out of school early (do to Friday traffic) and off we went. Of course we got there 3 hours before the wedding was to start so, we foun a nearby park and even better an ice cream store!!!!

Mother Son Dance

Well, the much anticipated mother son dance came and went. Last year was our first year and Zach just thought it was so coll that we got to wear sport jerseys that were exactly alike. We danced, ate corn dogs and tried to win the look a like contest. That just doesn't work when all your kids look just like their daddy...EVEN your daughter. Couldn't just one look like me?

Going, Going, Gone!!!

Well, we did it. We joined the rest of all the other crazy people and signed Zach up for baseball. Now every Saturday between march and May 31st we get to go to the fields for games!! The other kids love it , because practice is twice a week and there is a playground nearby. So, while Zach practices, the others get to perfect their climbing and monkey bar skills.

Crazy Hair Day

Today was crazy hair day at school. For the first time she actually let my do it "crazy". They have had them at school before and she would have nothing to do with it. Peer pressure, I guess.

Aren't they so cute

They are so cute together. When I told Craig to give her a kiss on the cheek she just couldn't stop giggling about it!!!

Daddy Daughter Dance

Every year our school has a daddy daughter dance. This year's theme was a night in Paris. Allison was so excited to go on a "fancy" date with her daddy. they danced, ate and had fun. The cutest thing... while she was gone Zach wrote her a note saying how proud of her he was and how excited she was to go to this dance. Allison's face lite up when she read it and she said that she was going to write him a note while he was with mommy at the mother son dance next month.

Yummy

Spencer had chocolate pudding for the first time. What do you think...did he like it?

First day of school

Here we are on the first day of school for Matthew. He was so excited to go, but when the big day came he wasn't to thrilled. Now he absolutely loves it!!! Look at the other kid. He is probably thinking what's your problem kid...this really isn't that bad.

AAAGGGHHH!!!!

Okay here we go again. I am going to try to start this again. I accidentally deleted my blog and I guess I have to start all over again.
